Here is something that I've recently discovered that I find handy. After always getting annoying by my camera strap, especially when shooting video I've ended up just taking it off and not having one.
This is a great little device. It attaches to the bottom of your camera which you attach your strap to.
Makes running and gunning much easier and more convenient.
Check it out for sure.

“House” continuing to use the 5DmkII in a “big way” on current season
http://philipbloom.net –
Not a lot of info here but I wanted to pass it on…I just had a little twitter exchange with Greg Yaitanes, the EP and Director of some episodes of the FOX show “House” with whom I did a long interview with back in April about their season finale that they shot entirely on 3 5DmkII. Well, Greg has told me that they are “being used in a big way in every episode and seamlessly intercutting with film”.

Finally some usable 3rd party 5dmk2/7d batteries
http://philipbloom.net –
The official ones keep going out of stock and are not cheap. Third party ones have been around for a while but do not communicate with the camera or charge on the official charger. Thanks to Switronix and their sister company Series 7 we now have a 3rd party battery and also a really excellent battery pack. Click on the photo to be taken to the site. I do not know the exact prices but they are much cheaper!

At least according to Canon Rumors so take your "news" with a grain of salt.

Also from the online rumor mill, "in August we've been told to expect several lenses that are a direct answer to customer demand," and demand for a Canon 24-70 2.8 IS zoom lens definitely tops the list. If that's the case, I'll be first in line. Love that lens but gotta have the IS!

EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L REVIEW
http://www.slrhq.com –
One of Canon's Most Professionally used lens, and a Top Seller. Canon's EF 24-70mm f2.8 L series lens is by far one of their most practical versitile lenses made. The extended coverage of 24mm to 70mm makes it ideal not only for photographers but for film shooters as well. The 70mm at a f/2.8 is ideal for acheiving that shallow depth of field "film look."

Real-World Shooting With the Canon 7D: Making the Switch to HD-DSLR
http://digitaljournalist.org –
PF Bentley has written an article on using HDSLR, the Canon 7D in this case, for photojournalism. He mentions three accessories as indispensable: - a viewfinder like the Zacuto Z-Finder - enhanced audio through Beachtek (internal recording) or Zoom (external recording) - a variable neutral density filter (e.g. Singh-Ray) which allows you to film in broad daylight with wide aperture, which gives esthetic depth-of-field effects. His conclusion:
