Recently I was on the look out for the best audio recorder for the Canon 5d mkII or for any DSLR in general. After about a day of research, reading reviews, comments, and watching videos, it came down to the Zoom H4n, or the Sony PCM-D50. They are both very similar in function, and each having some features the other doesn’t. What was nice about the Sony was its construction and build but it will cost you a little more.
Ultimately I ended up choosing the Zoom H4n. It came down to it’s XLR inputs on the back, and the a screw on the bottom to mount to your camera or tripod.

Officially MPC’s Lab question the camera compression found in the 5D MkII, 7D and ID MkIV: “It cannot be pushed too far in the grade before it starts to break up”. Warns people not to use it for green screen or 3D tracking and not to expect much image manipulation because of its 8-bit performance. They also don’t pull any punches about the aliasing, rolling shutter and frames rates. But if people are going to shoot with it MPC have a solution.

I've been getting a lot of people asking me about my photos from Japan on Facebook. So I decided to talk a little about it here. The camera I brought with me is the Canon 5D mkII. The reason I chose this camera is I like the full frame sensor and the depth of field it gives. Plus I've been shooting a lot of video with it which I will compile into something soon. I'm still experimenting a lot with it and have shot all these images with the EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L lens.

I got this info from Petapixel.com. I have been in contact with House director Greg Yaitanes to try to get a nice in depth interview but no joy as yet! Like you I have many questions as to how that got past the issues ox X,Y,Z. Many of which we encountered whilst shooting on DSLRs for Lucasfilm last month. But first this is the house news…
